This policy explains what personal information Surface Shield Automotive collects through this website and when we fit a product to your car, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are
Surface Shield Automotive fits paint protection film and nano-coatings. We decide how the information described here is used, and you can reach us about it through our contact page.
What we collect
When you send a booking request or a message
Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your car, the product you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field.
When we fit a product
To register your warranty we record your name, email address and phone number, your vehicle details, the product fitted, the area covered, the date of fitting and a warranty reference number.
When you check a warranty
The email address or phone number and the reference number you type are used only to find your warranty record. We do not keep them, although, like any website, our server may log the address of the page you requested.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange an inspection, a quote or a fitting.
- To register your warranty, show it to you on the warranty check page, and email you your warranty certificate.
- To email you once when your warranty is about to end, with what we recommend next.
- To handle a warranty claim.
We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Where it is kept
Booking requests and messages are delivered to the studio by email; the website does not store them. Warranty records are stored in this website’s database, which only the studio can access. Our web hosting and email providers process this information on our behalf and for no other purpose. We will disclose information only where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your request. Warranty records are kept for the length of the warranty and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can deal with claims and meet our legal and tax obligations; after that they are deleted.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising or analytics tracking, and it sets no cookies for visitors. Its fonts, images and 3D model are served from our own server. If you sign in to the site’s administration area, WordPress sets the cookies it needs to keep you signed in.
Links to other services
Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube take you to those services, whose own privacy policies apply once you are there.
Keeping it safe
The website is served over an encrypted connection, the administration area is protected by passwords, and access to warranty records is limited to the studio.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, ask us to correct, complete or update it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need it. You can withdraw your consent to us using it at any time (this does not affect anything done before), and you can nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. To do any of this, or to raise a complaint, contact us through our contact page; we will respond as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
